A Day in Cuba
Shortly after the thawing of relations with the US and almost concurrently to President Barack Obama’s historic visit to the island in March 2016, Michal Greenboim flew out to Cuba with a group of fellow photography enthusiasts.
The journey took Ms Greenboim from California to the heart of Havana’s old city where spontaneous cab rides and lively street strolls allowed her a glimpse into the life of locals in and outside the city’s limits.
The language barrier was no hindrance to interacting and forming warm, spontaneous connections with Cubans. The lens faithfully captured each fleeting instant with uncanny vibrancy while at other times, it lingered in the moment to reveal details of the Cuban life with a certain poignancy.
If there's a universal language inherent to being human, Michal Greenboim’s artwork poetically and seamlessly echoes it in this photographic chamber.
